POSSIBILITIES OF USING THE MS TEAMS SERVICE FOR MIXED AND DISTANCE EDUCATION OF THE CLINICAL DISCIPLINE “PSYCHIATRY” AT THE MEDICAL FACULTY OF ONMedU

The scientific world encountered the online education long before the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, on behalf to restrictions on visiting public institutions due to existing security problems that still exists, the question arises whether another crisis will not lead to the transformation of universities into online institutions. The main task remains to make the experience of students of higher education interesting, effective and safe. The ability to create an interactive experience in an online or mixed format will determine the quality of knowledge and skills of future professionals. Higher education institutions, in turn, also face difficult tasks, because they have to find an effective way not only to learn in a new environment, but also to prepare for entry into the profession under completely new conditions that no one fully understands yet.

The article presents the principles of organization distance and mixed education in the discipline “Psychiatry” using the MS Teams platform, presents its positive and negative features, its peculiarities. However, even the existing level of development of digital technologies does not allow to fully replace the possibilities of face-to-face training of future doctors, especially regarding the formation of professional practical skills (curation of patients).

Taking this into account, the distance learning format is possible only as an emergency, forced measure, and a hybrid or mixed form of education is considered as a perspective direction.
