The paper deals with basic theoretical aspects of autoimmune pathology development, including endogenous and exogenous etiologic factors and principal pathogenesis scenarios. Two cases of combined endocrine disorders of autoimmune origin, toxic goiter in conjunction with primary chronic adrenal insufficiency, are described. Possible mechanisms of autoimmune polyglandular syndrome type 2 development and differential diagnosis are considered.
