The problem of timely diagnosis of neoplasms of the human skin is urgent in connection with the increase in the number of patients with malignant skin formations.

The purpose of the work: To evaluate the results of diagnosing a tumor lesion of the skin of the external nose based on the analysis of clinical and instrumental semiotics, dermatoscopy (microscopy), and Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) in comparison with morphological research.

Research material and methods: 60 patients were involved in the study with suspected malignant disease of the skin of the external nose. 30 of them are women and 30 are men, aged from 56 to 80 years.

From the anamnesis, all formations were subjected to one degree or another to physical irritation of varying degrees, which may have prompted the development of a malignant process.

Results: The evaluation was carried out on the results of diagnosis and based on the use of complex diagnostics, with the help of which malignant tumors of the external nose were detected in 60 patients: basal cell cancer in 22 (36.7%), squamous cell carcinoma in 36 (60%) and two patients (3.3%) melanoma of the skin of the external nose.

Complex diagnostics allowed 100% of patients to determine the morphological structure and tissue of the accessory, which contributed to the correct choice of the treatment method. The cytologic (morphologic) study was informative only in 50% of studied patients.

Conclusions: the results of the study show, that complex diagnostics makes it possible to make a final diagnosis of skin disease and adequate treatment plan.

It is necessary to educate the population on self-diagnostics and the mandatory implementation of preventive measures to reduce the effects of harmful factors: ultraviolet, various chemical and mechanical irritation to healthy skin in order to diagnose the reduction of the number of malignant skin formations timely.

Key words: skin cancer of the external nose, comprehensive diagnostics, effectiveness.
