TRAUMATIC INJURIES OF MAIN VESSELS AND NERVES

125 patients who had traumatic injury of main arterial vessels were followed up.

According to the frequency and the reason of the factors, which caused trauma of vessels, were most often sharp-cutting objects (38 %) and traffic accidents (30 %), trauma of femoral vessels (32 %) and injury of forearm vessels (20 %).

For the restoration of blood circulation we have performed circumferential suture and bypass grafting by auto vein and synthetic prosthesis. Good result were observed in 72 % of cases, satisfactory — in 12 %, amputations — in 1,2 %. Reconstructive operations are shown in all cases of traumatic injuries of vessels irrespective of the duration of the injuries.
