DIAGNOSTIC AND TACTIC OF MEDICAL TREATMENT AT CLOSED THORACO-ABDOMINAL TRAUMA

Results of medical treatment of 345 injured persons with closed thoracoabdominal trauma (CTAT) at the age from 16 to 83 years are analysed. Surgical interference on the organs of thorax is conducted in 112 patients, on the organs of abdominal cavity and retroperitonial space — in 168. Successive operations are performed in 112 (40.0 %) patients: pleurocentesis, drenage of pleural cavity, toracotomia and laparotomia. 24 (21.4 %) patients had a dominant trauma of organs of thoracic cavity, 88 (78,6 %) — abdominal. The complications arose up in 4.9 %. The postoperative mortality made up 2.3 %. Shock, bleeding, acute respiratory insufficiency and peritonitis are main principal causes of death in CTAT.
