BLOOD REINFUSION FROM ABDOMINAL CAVITY IN TRAUMA

252 cases of polytrauma with injury of organs of abdominal cavity and intraperitoneal bleeding from 750 to 2000 ml were studied to learn the influence of reinfusion on the results of surgical treatment. The first group (129 patients) included patients with injury of liver and/or spleen, who had reinfusion of 200–1500 ml of blood from abdominal cavity. Lethality in the first group was 26.3 %. In the second group (without reinfusion) lethality was 39.3 %. Adequately prompt reinfusion of blood from abdominal cavity makes it possible to reduce lethality in patients with polytrauma by one third.
