THE FREQUENCY OF CHILDREN BIRTH WITH ESOPHAGEAL ATRESIA IN THE COURSE OF 1985–2001 IN LVIV REGION

The frequency of esophageal atresia among 469,832 newborns in Lviv region during 1985–2001 was 1,04±0,59 per 10,000 newborns. Trustworthy increasing of esophageal atresia in different periods in comparison with 1985–2001 was not detected. The fluctuation of frequency of this pathology had a wavy character. The lowest index of esophageal atresia frequency was observed in Mostysky (0,54 per 10,000 newborns, P<0,05) and in Zolochivsky (0,62 per 10,000 newborns, P<0,05) districts. The highest index was in Skolivsky (3,41 per 10,000 newborns, P<0,05) and in Drogobytsky (2,98 per 10000 newborns, P<0,05) districts and that had statistucally valued difference in comparison with the frequency for 1985–2001 in Lviv region.
