STRUCTURALLY FUNCTIONAL FEATURES OF PERIODONTAL TISSUES CONDITION IN PATIENTS WITH PROGRESSIVE ATROPHY OF THE ALVEOLAR BONE

The researches revealed that in persons with progressive atrophy of the alveolar bone dystrophic processes prevail. The X-ray pattern of the alveolar bone is characterized by presence of active (diffuse) osteoporosis, which to the greatest degree determines the fast progressing of the pathological process in the alveolar bone. The inflammatory phenomena of soft periodontal tissues are less expressed, rather than in persons with slow course of resorptive processes in the alveolar bone. The parallel decrease of calcium, phosphorus and magnesium in the oral liquid is specific for periodontitis with expressed atrophic processes in the alveolar bone.
