TICK-BORNE ENCEPHALITIS IN ODESSA REGION

On the basis of complex seroepidemiological, seroepizootological, virological monitoring a broad spreading of tick-born encephalitis virus (TBEV) on the territory of Odessa region was determined. Antibodies to TBEV were revealed in inhabitants of 25 from 26 investigated areas of region, TBEV antigen – in blood-sucker ticks from 17 areas and city of Odessa. The virus is circulating in populations of livestock and birds that eat on a ground. Retrospectively the causation with TBEV was determined in 6 patients with etiology unclear diagnosis. The conclusion on necessity of tick-born encephalitis diagnostics improvement and constant epidemiological surveillance for its circulation was made.
