It was investigated the influence of blue-green seaweed Spirulina platensis (SP) preparation on the endocrine status and lipid peroxidation (LP) in the liver, kidneys and heart of rats one month later after a single X-ray exposure (2 Gy).
The findings of the research demonstrated the efficiency of SP in correction of radiation impairment of the adrenal gland glucocorticoid function, radiation increase of thyroxin and MDA levels and prevention of inhibition of organism antioxidant protection in rats exposed to ionizing radiation.
