PECULIARITIES OF SLEEP-AWAKENESS CYCLE IN RATS AT DIFFERENT STAGES OF CORAZOL KINDLING DEVELOPMENT

In experiments on Wistar rats chemical kindling was induced via i. p. corazol repeated administrations (25.0 mg/kg). The early stage of kindling, which reflects peculiarities of absence seizures, the shortening of latent period of sleep along with increased total time of superficial slow-wave sleep have been observed. The stage of generalized seizures manifestations was characterized by fragmentation and shortening of latency of paradoxal sleep along with decreasing of its duration and increasing of the length of superficial slow-wave sleep. Mentioned disturbances are discussed as pathogenetical mechanisms of kindled seizures development.
