STUDY OF MICROBIOLOGICAL STATUS OF THE ORAL CAVITY IN THOSE WHO USE PROSTHESES WITH THE BASES MADE OF POLYPROPILENE AND ACRYLIC PLASTIC

The article speaks about the study of quantitative and qualitative microbiological status of patients who use the partial removable prostheses based on the different plastics. The author investigated the formation of biological film on the surface of the plastic protheses based on the acrylic plastic “Ftorax”, “Beztsvetnaya (Colorless)” and based on polypropylene.

The conducted investigations revealed the high capability of polypropylene prosthesis for the selective adhesion of the stabilizing flora, which suppresses an increase in the pathogenic and fungal flora along the surface of prostheses. This allowed the author to prove that, in spite of the large porosity of material, polypropylene in the oral cavity does not cause shifts of microbiocenosis to the pathogenic flora.
