THE 114С-BUTYRIC ACID THRANSPORT THROUGH THE BRAIN-BLOOD BARRIER OF WHITE MICE

The work is dedicated to studying distribution process of 114C-butyric acid and its entering to mice brain after its intravenous and oral administrations.

It was found that butyric acid distribution is unequal and depends on the method of administration. The butyrate entering to brain is carried out mainly by the help of active transport. The 114C-buturic acid level is 55–60% from the whole quantity of the common radioactivity, the ratio “brain/blood plasma” in the steady state is 1.05–1.13.
