The results of 359 laparoscopies in patients with closed abdominal trauma are presented. The following damages are exposed in 192 cases: splenic rupture in 52, liver rupture — in 41, damages of bowel and\or mesentery — in 51 and damages of organs of retroperitoneal space — in 48 patients. In 167 patients damages of internal organs were rejected.
Consequently diagnostic laparoscopy may be considered as alternative to laparotomy in patients with abdominal trauma.
