COMPARATIVE EFFICIENCY OF THERAPY OF PERMANENT ATRIAL FIBRILLATION BY AMIODARONE WITH METOPROLOL OR CARVEDILOL

The comparison of the efficacy of amiodarone, metoprolol and karvedilol was done in 26 patients aged 55±9 years old with permanent atrial fibrillation, which was the complication of coronary heart disease or hypertension. Patients were divided into two groups amiodarone + metoprolol (A+M, 12 patients) and amiodarone + karvedilol (A+K, 14 patients). It was found that after the therapy quality of life increased, functional class of heart failure decreased, heart rate stabilized and blood pressure normalized. Spectral analysis of heart rate showed that total power (ТР. Мс2) increased. Combination of amiodarone and karvedilol was more effective: heart rate decreased, quality of life increased and blood pressure normalized orthostatic reactions better than combination of amiodarone + metoprolol.
