PREVELANCE OF WEST NILE VIRUS AND ITS ETIOLOGIC ROLE IN INFECTIOUS PATHOLOGY IN ODESA REGION

Prevalence of West Nile virus (WNV) on the territory of Odesa region is studied, its etiological role in the seasonal infectious pathology is estimated. It is determined that on average (23,37±2,12) % of human population has WNV-specific antibodies. The virus amplifies in mosquitoes and birds. Retrospectively on the basis of clinicoepidemiological and laboratory data the WNV fever (WNVF) was diagnosed in 46 patients with etiological unestablished diagnosis. It is necessary to provide for specific diagnostics of WNVF and continuous monitoring of WNV circulation in Odesa region.
