The theoretical and methodological bases of reforming state policy of Ukraine in the sphere of health protection concerning the prevention of social and chronic diseases are analyzed; characteristics of legal and regulatory support for the implementation of state policy; the level of implementation of state policy in the field of counteraction to social and chronic diseases is analyzed; the organizational mechanisms for reforming and implementing the public health policy in the field of prevention of social and chronic diseases are considered; the main ways of implementation of improving of the state policy in the light of international experience are determined.
