It was determined that in extrachorial (peripheral) cotyledons of extrachorial placentas in comparison with peripheral cotyledons of ordinary placentas there was decreased proliferating activity of cytotrophoblast of chorial villi. In extrachorial cotyledons of extrachorial placentas in comparison with peripheral cotyledons of ordinary placentas increased level of apoptosis, which is explained by increased contents of protein Bax in sincytiotrophoblast and stromal cells, also decreased contents of protein Bcl-2 in sincytiotrophoblast.
