Historically cardiac surgery on the basis of the RCH began with implantation of cardiostimulators. In 1993 for the first time on the south of Ukraine the catheter destruction of AV node by a direct current in a patient with tachyarrhythmia was conducted. Since 1997 open heart operations without artificial circulation have been carried out. The first coronary artery bypass grafting was performed on October 30, 2007. The Odessa State Medical University and RCH organize the unique on the south of Ukraine department of electro-physiology of arrhythmias. With new stationary angiograph introduction this year we plan to considerably increase the amount of interventions in patients suffering from myocardial infarction and other forms of heart disease.
