The problem of complete denture producing is one of the most important problems of modern denture. In spite of the rich experience in this field every year lots of scientific works are published. They present new ideas to improvement of one or another stage of denture making.
The first and the most important stage in denture producing process is the functional impression getting. Especially importance is in the case of difficult anatomic conditions of mucosa.
It is given a review of known methods and materials for functional impression getting from the jaw bone without teeth, which are really used in prosthodontics. A comparative analysis of some methods is conducted and the methods of their optimization are established.
