The theoretical basis and role of modern method of radiodiagnostics — positron emission tomography was highlighted. The advantages of combined diagnostic apparatuses were described, and the protocol of investigations was presented. There were given the indications for execution of PET with 18F -fluorodesoxyglucose in oncological practice.
