The aim of the study was experimental evaluation processes of self-purification of sea water. It is shown that the marine environment in the areas of recreational water inOdessaBayis a subject to intense anthropogenic pollution, mainly due to sewageOdessa. The remoteness of the place effluents influences the level of markers of pollution in seawater (f=0.1, CI 0.03–0.17), and the presence of impurities in seawater oil prolongs the persistence of opportunistic pathogens.
